I am looking to start a rebuild on a complete orignal Harley Panhead or a Shovelhead but have no idea where to start looking for a junk harley?

EBay
Avoid bikes from a foreign country. They can be scams.
I have a cousin that has bought and resurrected several Harleys this way.
Be prepared to travel if necessary, or have it shipped.
Watch the local classifieds. Many locations also have “Shopper” magazines with motorcycles.
Good luck on your project.

there is really no such thing as a “junk” Harley, especially if it’s a complete original.

You are much more likely to find a junky shovel than a pan. I have seen some good prices on shovels lately. Pans are gonna be more pricey and harder to find as far as a junker. Keep an eye on Ebay and also cycle trader online.

you might find a junk late shovel head, about1978 to 84 at walnecks.com or eBay for around $5000 or $6000 or so. that’s abour $1500 more than they sold for new.
if you get much older than that they start going up in price.
forget about a panhead (1948 to 65) they are all high priced.
your best bet for low price parts availability would be a mid 80s evo. if you can buy one cheap enough.
firecrackers right an ironhead would be a lot cheaper to buy,
their just as durable as the big twins & more oil tite than pans or shovels. but their parts are a little higher & they dont have any resale value. good way to get some cheap experience though.

Ebay or an individual classified add…………..Junk and Harley shouldn’t even be allowed to be used in the same sentence together…….Shovels Rule!

I’ve seen a couple shovels on craigslist.
There’s a good handful of ironhead Sportys out there too.
