I bought the docking hardware for a removable sissy bar for my FLH. The hardware came with installation instructions. It was easy to install. It was a matter of removing some existing machine screws and replacing them with the ones they supply with the kit. I can’t imagine the docking hardware for a windshied would be any more difficult.

Yes you can do it yourself.
Four screws, with rubber grommets for the mounting bracket on the windshield.
If you have the auxilary lights on your bike, then that makes a difference in the type of fasteners that you will use.

I can barely tie my shoes without help and I put one on a 2007 Softail with no problem at all. There are 2 bolts on either side of the forks. You remove those 4 bolts and replace them with the bolts that come with the windshield. Remove only one and replace it with the new one, then remove the second stock bolt and replace it with the new one, and so on. Do not remove all 4 at once. After that the windshield simply slides on the rubber mounts that are attached to the new bolts you just installed. Piece of cake, seriously.

I put them on a couple of FLHRs, fairly simple.
