Yes I think that it would be a great start. An 883 or 1200 custom…

My friend who is a little over 5′ tall got a Sportster 880 and had it lowered. Any bike can be lowered. Ask your dealer.

I have seen ladies shorter than you on a softtail deluxe…one of the heavier bikes in harleys line up.here is a good rule of thumb.if you can sit on the bike, pull it up off the sidestand and still have both feet FLAT on the ground then you can ride it.but only get a bike you feel comfortable on.the bigger bikes are harder to pick up if you happen to drop it but I have seen some men who cant pick up the big bikes either.the sportster is a good choice but unless you go with the Low you may have to have the bike lowered

no, a dyna low glide. light weight, low for you and a step up from sportsters which dont hold value.

yes the Sportster 883 low would be good for someone your size and the 07and 08 models have EFI instead of a carburetor

Actually there is a good argument the Sportster is NOT a good beginner bike for a short person.

It has a taller seat height than other models.
If is quicker than other models.

Even a tiny person can pick up a full dresser. Check out the videos on You Tube on how to pick up a bike.

A short person is better off with a heavier bike they can touch both feet flat on the ground than a tall light bike they are on their tip toes or one foot.

Yes a sporty is ok but they are legendary uncomfortable. How about an 1100 Star twin (Yamaha). Safe a lot of money and run a darn sight longer.

  8. XYZ Says:

I would look at the Softail Deluxe. It is almost an inch shorter than the Sportster Low and looks much better also.
